Frequently Asked Questions
What makes PureVision 2 so popular?
As monthly disposable lenses, the PureVision 2 range can be worn for up to 30 days and can even be worn for extended wear if approved by your optician. They have High Definition optics which reduce halos and glare, for clearer vision even when you’re using tech devices or in low light conditions. The design of these lenses makes them ideal for people with spherical aberrations, which occur when light is refracted at a different angle as it passes through the eye. It’s perfectly normal for eyes to have aberrations and in fact many people have them. These lenses are designed for this occurrence, ensuring that the contact lens sits on the eye securely and the wearer benefits from greater visual acuity.
PureVision 2 lenses have a thinner design that not only makes them more comfortable to wear but also provides a thinner barrier for oxygen to pass through, keeping your eyes white, bright and healthy. They also feature a light blue handling tint which helps you know which way up they are for easier insertion – a great feature for those new to wearing contact lenses, making the process of putting your lenses in each morning even easier and quicker.

They’re intended for daily wear but with your optician’s approval, they can be worn for extended wear of up to 30 days and 30 nights, making them a flexible and convenient option if you lead a busy and active lifestyle.
These lenses deliver excellent clarity and comfort, while retaining moisture throughout the day. The thin rounded edges make them a comfortable pair of lenses to wear for long periods, while also being easier to handle. The ComfortMoist Technology makes them easy to insert and supports your comfort throughout the day, while the thin material helps oxygen flow through to the eyes to keep your eyes brighter and healthier. How much do PureVision 2 contact lenses cost?
PureVision 2 lenses cost just under £14 for a pack of 3 monthly lenses, or £27.50 for a pack of 6 lenses. As monthly lenses, they are more cost-effective than daily disposables and also reduce waste as you’ll be using fewer blister packs. How do I care for PureVision 2 contact lenses?
As monthly lenses, PureVision 2 contact lenses do require a little bit of maintenance to keep them clean and safe to wear. Luckily, this routine doesn’t take long to master and it takes just a few minutes. First, remove your lens from your eye and gently put it in the palm of your hand. With your other hand, pour a small amount of contact lens solution onto the lens and rub the surface with your index finger to remove any deposits and dirt that may have built up on the lens. Put the lens in the contact lens container and fill it up with fresh, clean contact lens solution. Repeat for the other contact lens.
Make sure your hands are thoroughly clean and dry before you start this process. As well as cleaning your lenses after every wear, it’s also important that you clean your lens container regularly and always use fresh solution before storing your lenses. Every couple of months, switch out your container for a new one to avoid the risk of bacteria building up.
What alternative brands are there?
If you don’t think that the PureVision 2 range of contact lenses is right for your needs, there are alternatives you can try. We recommend Biofinity lenses, which are comparable to these particular lenses and are one of the most popular brands on the market. Biofinity lenses use Aquaform technology to allow more oxygen to reach the eyes and have a smooth, breathable surface which not only encourages healthier eyes but also keeps your vision clear for longer. The aspheric front keeps your focus sharp and prevents blurred vision, and under the guidance of your optician, these lenses can be worn for up to 6 days and nights continuously before needing to be switched out.
Alternatively, if you want a lens with even more moisture, you may want to try the Air Optix Night and Day lenses which can be worn for extended wear for 30 days and 30 nights (with your optician’s approval). They are a super breathable lens that allows plenty of oxygen to flow through to the eyes, with a smooth lens surface that prevents protein deposits from building up. If you’re not sure which brand to choose, speak to your optician who may be able to recommend a suitable brand for your prescription and vision needs.
